Common Causes

  • The device is not in pairing mode
  • Another device is already connected to it

How to Fix It — Step by Step

  1. 1

    Make sure the Bluetooth device is in pairing mode (check its manual).

    On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth.

    If the device is listed, tap the settings icon next to it and tap "Forget" or "Unpair".

    Restart Bluetooth: turn it off, wait 10 seconds, turn it back on.

    Restart both your phone and the Bluetooth device.

    Make sure the devices are close together (within 3 feet / 1 metre).

How to Prevent This in the Future

Keep Bluetooth devices charged. Make sure no other phone is already connected to the device.
