Don’t worry — this is a common issue and usually easy to fix!

Android Error

Charging Slowly

What This Means (In Plain English)

Your phone is charging but much slower than normal. It will still charge fully — it will just take longer.

Low UrgencyThis is not urgent. Take your time with the fix.

Common Causes

  • Using a low-power charger or computer USB port
  • A damaged or cheap charging cable
  • Dirty charging port
  • Using the phone while charging
  • High ambient temperature

How to Fix It — Step by Step

  1. 1

Use the charger that came with your phone — other chargers may be slower.

  2. 2

Make sure you are using a wall outlet, not a computer USB port (which charges much slower).

  3. 3

Check the charging cable for damage and try a different one.

  4. 4

Clean the charging port on your phone with a soft brush or wooden toothpick.

  5. 5

Close all apps and turn off the screen while charging — using the phone slows charging.

  6. 6

Turn off your phone completely while charging for the fastest charge.

  7. 7

Avoid charging in hot environments — heat slows charging.

How to Prevent This in the Future

Use the original charger and cable. Avoid cheap replacement chargers. Keep the charging port clean.
