Don’t worry — this is a common issue and usually easy to fix!
“Call Failed”
What This Means (In Plain English)
Your iPhone tried to make a phone call but could not connect. This usually means there is a problem with your mobile signal or carrier.
Common Causes
- •Poor mobile signal in your current location
- •Network congestion during busy times
- •An account or billing issue with your carrier
- •A temporary network outage in your area
How to Fix It — Step by Step
- 1
Check the signal bars at the top of your screen — if there are none, move to a different location.
- 2
Turn Airplane Mode on and off: swipe down from the top-right and tap the airplane icon, wait 10 seconds, tap it again.
- 3
Restart your iPhone.
- 4
Make sure your phone plan is active and your bill is paid.
- 5
Try calling a different number to rule out a problem with the other person's phone.
- 6
Go to Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling and turn it on if available — this lets you call over Wi-Fi.
How to Prevent This in the Future
Keep Wi-Fi Calling turned on as a backup. Make sure your carrier account stays active.
