How to Enable Emergency SOS on iPhone 16 / 16 Plus

Open the Settings app.

Tap "Emergency SOS".

Make sure "Call with Hold and Release" is turned on.

Optionally turn on "Call Quietly" to avoid the countdown alarm.

To use Emergency SOS, press and hold the side button and a volume button together. A countdown starts and calls 911.
