Low Vision Settings on Mac / MacBook
macOS has excellent built-in accessibility for low vision, with smooth zoom and screen reader capabilities.
Settings to Turn On

Increase Text Size
System Settings → Accessibility → Display → Text Size → increase
Makes text larger across macOS.

Zoom
System Settings → Accessibility → Zoom → turn ON. Use Ctrl + scroll to zoom.
Magnifies your entire screen or a portion of it.

Increase Contrast
System Settings → Accessibility → Display → Increase Contrast → turn ON
Makes buttons and borders more visible.

Reduce Transparency
System Settings → Accessibility → Display → Reduce Transparency → turn ON
Makes backgrounds solid for clearer reading.

Cursor Size
System Settings → Accessibility → Display → Pointer Size → increase
Makes the mouse pointer larger and easier to find.

Hover Text
System Settings → Accessibility → Zoom → Hover Text → turn ON. Hold Command to see enlarged text under cursor.
Shows a large preview of text under your mouse pointer.
Helpful Tip
Press Ctrl + Option + Cmd + 8 to quickly invert screen colors for better contrast.
