How to Use Amazon on iPhone

2Set Up Your Account

Open Amazon

Tap the Amazon icon on your home screen.

Sign in or create account

Tap "Already a customer? Sign In" if you have an account. Otherwise, tap "Create a new Amazon account" — you will need your name, email, and a password.

Add a payment method

Go to Your Account > Payment options and add a credit or debit card for purchases.

Set your address

Go to Your Account > Addresses and add your delivery address.

Search for products

Tap the search bar at the top and type what you want. Browse through the results. You can also use the camera icon to scan barcodes.

Read reviews

Scroll down on any product page to read reviews from other customers. Look at the star rating and read 3-4 reviews before buying.

Add to cart and buy

Tap "Add to Cart" to save items, then tap the cart icon and "Proceed to checkout" when ready to buy. Review your order and tap "Place your order."

Track your orders

Tap the profile icon at the bottom, then "Your Orders" to see the status and delivery date of your purchases.

Return an item

Go to Your Orders, find the item, and tap "Return or Replace Items." Follow the steps to arrange a return.

  • Always check the seller — "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com" is the most reliable option.

  • Read the 1-star and 2-star reviews as well as the positive ones to get a balanced view of the product.

  • Use "Subscribe & Save" for items you buy regularly (like vitamins or paper towels) to get a discount and automatic delivery.

  • Enable two-factor authentication in Your Account > Login & Security for extra security on your account.

Common Issues & Solutions

I ordered the wrong item
Go to Your Orders and tap the order. If it has not shipped yet, you can cancel it. If it has shipped, wait for delivery and then return it following the return process.
My payment was declined
Check that your credit card details are correct in Your Account > Payment options. Make sure the card has not expired and has sufficient funds. Try adding a different card.
I am getting too many notifications
Go to Amazon Settings > Notifications and turn off the types you do not want, like deals and recommendations.
