How to Use Instagram on iPhone

2Set Up Your Account
Open Instagram
Tap the colorful Instagram icon on your home screen.
Create an account or log in
Tap "Create New Account" and follow the prompts — you will need an email or phone number, a username, and a password. Or tap "Log In" if you have an account.
Set up your profile
Add a profile photo, your name, and a short bio (like "Grandma of 5, love gardening").
Find people to follow
Instagram will suggest accounts. Follow friends, family, and topics you enjoy.

Browse your feed
The main screen shows photos and videos from people you follow. Scroll down to see more. Double-tap a photo to Like it (a heart will appear).
Post a photo
Tap the "+" icon at the bottom center. Choose a photo from your library or take a new one. Add a filter if you like, write a caption, and tap "Share."
Watch Stories
Tap the circular profile pictures at the top of your feed to watch Stories — short photo or video updates that disappear after 24 hours.
Send a direct message
Tap the paper airplane icon at the top right. Select a person and type your message.
Explore and discover
Tap the magnifying glass at the bottom to explore trending content, or search for specific people and topics.
