Tips for Seniors

  • The iPad's large screen makes Google Maps excellent for trip planning — see the whole route at a glance.

  • Use Street View to virtually visit a place before you go, so you know what it looks like.

  • Download offline maps before road trips in case you lose cell signal.

  • Prop the iPad on your dashboard with a mount for hands-free navigation in the car.

Common Issues & Solutions

GPS is inaccurate on my iPad
Wi-Fi-only iPads have less accurate GPS than cellular models. Connect to Wi-Fi for better location accuracy, or use your iPhone for navigation instead.
Map tiles are not loading
Check your internet connection. Try closing and reopening the app. Download offline maps for areas you visit frequently.
Cannot get voice navigation
Make sure your iPad is not muted. Turn up the volume. In the Maps app during navigation, tap the speaker icon to enable voice.
