Tips for Seniors

  • Print directions before a trip so you have a backup if your phone loses signal.

  • Use Street View to virtually visit your destination before going — you will recognize the place when you arrive.

  • Zoom in and out with your mouse scroll wheel to explore the map.

  • Bookmark maps.google.com for quick access to directions anytime.

Common Issues & Solutions

The map is hard to see
Use Ctrl+"+" to zoom in on the page. You can also use the "+" and "-" buttons on the map. Switch to Satellite view for a real-world photo view.
Directions are not showing
Make sure both the starting point and destination are entered correctly. Try a different browser if the route does not appear.
Google Maps does not show my location
Click "Allow" when the browser asks for location permission. Location on a desktop computer uses your Wi-Fi connection and may be less accurate than on a phone.
