Wait for sync

Your messages will sync from your phone to the computer. This may take a few minutes.

Tips for Seniors

  • Using WhatsApp on a computer is great because you have a full keyboard for typing longer messages.

  • You can zoom in on the WhatsApp window by pressing Ctrl and the "+" key to make everything bigger and easier to read.

  • Drag and drop photos from your computer directly into a chat window to share them quickly.

  • Keep your phone charged and connected to the internet — WhatsApp Desktop needs your phone to stay linked.

Common Issues & Solutions

The QR code is not scanning
Make sure your phone camera is clean and steady. Hold it about 6 inches from the screen. If the QR code expired, click "Reload QR code" on the computer. Make sure both devices are connected to the internet.
WhatsApp Desktop keeps disconnecting
Check that your phone is connected to the internet and has battery. In your phone's WhatsApp Settings > Linked Devices, make sure your computer is still listed. If not, link it again.
I cannot hear audio during calls
Check that your computer speakers or headphones are working. Click the sound icon in the Windows taskbar to verify volume. In WhatsApp, make sure the correct microphone and speaker are selected in call settings.
