Press and hold the microphone icon on the right side of the text field. Speak your message and release to send.

Create a group

Tap the three dots at the top right, then "New group." Select the contacts you want to include and give the group a name.

Tips for Seniors

  • Make text bigger: Go to Android Settings > Display > Font Size and choose a larger option. This makes WhatsApp text bigger too.

  • Use voice messages instead of typing — press and hold the microphone icon and speak naturally.

  • Star important messages by pressing and holding a message, then tapping the star icon. Find them later in Settings > Starred Messages.

  • Turn on large keyboard: Go to Android Settings > System > Languages & Input > On-screen keyboard > your keyboard > Preferences > set to a larger size.

Common Issues & Solutions

I am not getting notifications
Go to Android Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Notifications and make sure all notifications are turned on. Also check that Battery Optimization is turned off for WhatsApp (Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization > WhatsApp > Don't Optimize).
The verification code never arrives
Wait the full 60 seconds. Make sure your phone number is correct with the country code. Try the "Call me" option which will read the code to you via a phone call. Make sure your phone has cell signal.
WhatsApp is using too much storage
Open WhatsApp > Settings > Storage and Data > Manage Storage. Delete large files and old media you no longer need. Turn off automatic media download to save space.
