Tips for Seniors

  • Press Command and "+" together to zoom in and make text larger, or Command and "-" to zoom out.

  • Use the Mac's dictation feature: press the Fn key twice and speak your message instead of typing.

  • Pin your most important chats by right-clicking on them and selecting "Pin Chat" so they stay at the top.

  • WhatsApp on Mac works independently once linked — your phone does not need to stay on or connected.

Common Issues & Solutions

WhatsApp is not opening on my Mac
Make sure your Mac is running macOS 10.15 or later. Check for updates in System Settings > Software Update. Try deleting and reinstalling WhatsApp from the App Store.
I cannot scan the QR code with my phone
Make sure WhatsApp on your phone is updated to the latest version. Clean your phone's camera lens. Hold the phone steady about 6 inches from the Mac screen. Try dimming the Mac screen slightly if there is too much glare.
