Tips for Seniors

  • Use Facebook Lite from the Play Store if your phone runs slowly — it uses less space and data.

  • Be cautious with links in posts — do not click on links from people you do not know, as they could be scams.

  • Set your profile to private: Menu > Settings & Privacy > Settings > Privacy. Change "Who can see your future posts?" to "Friends."

  • Turn on two-factor authentication for extra security: Settings > Security and Login > Two-Factor Authentication.

Common Issues & Solutions

Facebook is using too much data
Disable auto-play videos: Menu > Settings & Privacy > Settings > Media > Autoplay > On Wi-Fi Only. Use Facebook Lite for lower data usage.
I keep getting notifications for things I do not care about
Go to Menu > Settings & Privacy > Settings > Notifications. Turn off notifications for groups, pages, and other categories you do not need.
Facebook takes up too much storage
Clear the cache: Android Settings > Apps > Facebook > Storage > Clear Cache. This removes temporary data without deleting your account.
